Going through the picks on my phone I came along this guy.
Shot just before Rooiels, down one of the cliffs.
One day during our commercial divers course, John and I decided to go spearing. Not being from that side of the mountain, we spear atlantic seaboard, we didn’t know where to go.
Getting bits and pieces of info we made our way to Rooiels/Betty’s.
Our course was in Sommerset West.
On the way there we saw a spearo climbing down the cliff to the water, so followed suit.
It was a beautiful little area, dropping in on 10-12meters, lots of structure and some kelp. Unfortunately we didn’t see many fish. One very elusive Hottie and a scattering of Two Toned Fingerfin (Butterfish).
Couldn’t get the shy Hottie but got 2 Two Toned Fingerfins.
